My new Craft Blog...

I have so many craft projects coming up lately that I figured I should start my own craft blog, so that I could keep this blog more of my tales of Fritter & our life.

I would love it if you would follow my new blog so that you could keep up with all the fun stuff I'll be making! :-)

My latest post is about the cushions I made for Fritter's toddler table!

So head on over to & I hope to see you there! :-)

Whatcha eating?

Fritter was playing in her new kitchen  yesterday & was running around with this fake chicken leg pretending to eat it. I asked her, "Whatcha eating?"

and she replied, "Goldfish, mommy!"

Well....I guess you're right!

Happy Tuesday!

Peach Festival

On Saturday morning, we got Fritter up & drove over to Ruston, LA for the Louisiana Peach Festival & had a fun time! We went through many booths of people making their handmade items & I loved it! I love seeing all the fun things that people create! We then stopped under a shady tree, because it was soooo HOT & ate lunch & some homemade Peach ice cream..It was delicious!

Fritter thought so too! :-)
I feel the same way when I eat ice cream! HA!

I didn't take a lot of pictures b/c it was so hot & I was trying to keep myself & Fritter cool, push the stroller, & try not to fall down in the huge crowd of people! LOL We did shop along the cute shops in downtown Ruston & I even found a fabric shop & grabbed some fun fabric! :-)

Another fun thing about Ruston is that it is where the college I graduated from is. It was so nice to go back to the campus. I graduated 5 years ago & haven't been back, so it was fun seeing all the new things they have built & improved. We went by the Lady of the Mist fountain while walking through the campus & Fritter wanted to touch it! LOL

All in all it was a fun day trip! Hopefully we can go again next year! :-)

Dress up!

My oldest sister has 2 daughters that are now 11 & 7, so we have been the recipients of some great hand-me downs & today she called me over to come pick up some more! We were super excited! She gave us a huge tub of dress up clothes that Fritter is LOVING!
She had to put on the Cinderella outfit (of course..), along with the tutu, white beads, & crown!
Picking out all the right accessories!
What a lovely necklace!
She turned on her Cinderella radio & twirled and danced around the room. My favorite part was when she came up to me and said, " I look pretty, Momma!"

Yes, you do look very pretty, my Cinderella!

I just love these fun girly times!

Going to the Movies!

Tonight we took Fritter to the movies for the first time to see Toy Story 3. I was a little worried on how she would do, but she LOVED it and did wonderful! She sat in our laps most of the time, because she didn't like how the chair could close on her! lol She even stood alot of the time & really got into the movie!

I took a couple of pictures of our fun night! (They are from my phone so they are a little blurry, but I didn't want to look like one of those crazy moms with one of her big cameras documenting her babies first movie! LOL)
Heading into the theater with Daddy!

Waiting on some popcorn!

Look at all this candy, Momma!! :-)

Sitting on the edge of her seat! She loved it! :-)

Smiling with Momma!

The movie was so sweet & a great way to end the Toy Story movies! It was one of the best, I think! She giggled & said "Oh no!" during dramatic scenes. She was really into it! I'm sure we will have lots more trips to the movie theater ahead of us now, because she loved it so much!

Coffee Table Transformation

Another project I wanted to work on for Fritter's room was recovering an old coffee that was my grandmother's. I actually did this first in college, but recently got it from my parents house, and stripped the other fabric off & started over!

First you get an old (hopefully hand-me down) coffee table.
Then you can spray paint the legs if you need too, since we were putting it in Fritter's room with white furniture, I went with spray painting them white.

Then you need to drill 3 evenly placed holes on the top of the coffee table:

Then lay down 1 inch thick foam batting on top of the coffee table & trim with scissors to fit the table.

Then lay your fabric choice (about 1 1/2 yards) on top of the batting.

Then get your trusty stapler gun & begin tucking fabric under table & stapling into place.

Continue to staple all the way around until you have it completely covered!

Then get 3 matching buttons & thread & begin sewing buttons on in order to "tuft" your stool.

Then add a few stuffed animals, a lamp, & books and you have a great little reading nook! :-)

Here's a close up of the bench.

So go snag up an old coffee table & get to covering! :-)

Now off to start on my new curtains....

Happy Tuesday!

Initial Platter

I found this old, ugly platter a few months ago at a garage sale for $1 and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!

I knew I'd be decorating Fritter's "big" girl room when we moved in our new house, so I wanted to make an initial platter to hang over her bed!

So I sprayed painted it a fun pink color:

and it came out like this:

So much better! :-)

Then I wrote out a big "A" out on a sheet of paper, then set carbon paper underneath it & traced it onto the platter.

Then you have a great stencil to paint on.
Then I got a matching turquoise craft paint & painted it on with a small paintbrush.
And you have this:

I then added some matching fabric scraps to make a hanger and tied it with a bow & hot glued it to the back! I love it over her bed & think it goes perfectly!

So for about $2-3 I made a super fun intial platter to hang over her bed! :-)

More pics of her room makeover coming soon!

I'm linking up!
