Flashback Friday

We're still a little stuffy today, but are on the mend! :) I thought it would be fun to join in Flashback Friday today & I loved looking through the pictures I had of Fritter from this time last year! My how much she has grown & changed in a year! :) Is it bad that these pictures make my heart ache a little bit?!? Ohh...I just love all her sweetness! :)

Bundled up for the cold! :)
Crawling around & clapping at Rascal! :)
Being silly in her bouncy seat! :)

Ahh..What sweet memories!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

Under The Weather....

Well Fritter & I have been pretty sick this week. Tons of Tylenol, tissues, & spending time cuddled up on the couch watching shows has been our daily regiment the last few days. There have been a couple of cases of the swine flu with a couple of our close friends, so I'm hoping it's not that! We have had flu-like symptoms, but I think it is just a really bad cold, so we're just treating the symptoms & hoping to get better soon!

We are getting cabin fever around here! It is supposed to get chilly again tomorrow too, so more snuggling and staying warm seem to be the prescription for us!

Hope everyone else is staying well! :)

Football Flop!

So this weekend was super fun & super busy! Last night after church we planned on going over to our friends house to watch the 2nd half of the Saints game! Here in Louisiana it has been crazy with all the people buzzing about the Saints! It was so fun to see a victory last night & we were all excited they will be going to the Super Bowl first time ever!

Well all that being said, I went to the grocery store after church to get some chips & dip to bring & I thought I would make cake balls to take for dessert! Now, I've never made cake balls, but I have seen the recipe all over blogland, so I figured I could "wing" it with the ingredients. Well I text my friend Michelle & she said, "Just get a box of cake mix, cream cheese, and chocolate bark." Sounds easy enough!

I get home realize that we don't have any eggs that I need to bake the cake....I take back off to the store to get eggs, get home bake the cake, crumble it all up...Put the cream cheese in...And here's where things go bad....

They are so dry and crumbly & will not form into footballs...I figure I can make this work so I keep pressing & forming the balls. I heat up my chocolate which at this point I realize is not even enough! I'm determined to make it work so I start dipping my "footballs" into the chocolate for them only to start crumbling all in the chocolate! At this point, my hubby walks in and says "Oh my! What are you doing?" I had a complete meltdown in the middle of my kitchen!! Needless to say, they looked like you know what! LOL

So after wasting about 2 1/2 hours & $8 this what I got:

Completely and utter FAILURE!! LOL

Yuck! LOL

Oh my!!

I was not happy!

SOOO....All that to say! Last night I was telling Michelle about what happened & we realized you are supposed to use Cream Cheese FROSTING!...

So if you ever make cake balls, be sure to read the recipe carefully or you could have a big blob of yuckiness & a funny story to tell! LOL

Have a great Monday!

Yummy Goodness!

Tonight I hosted a Usborne Books Home Show & it was so much fun! Usborne Books is a great company that delivers educational excellence one book at a time! I'm excited about becoming a consultant too! It will be fun to get to meet so many new mothers & teach them all about these great books & products!

We had a good time tonight visiting, looking at the books, & of course, eating! :)

My friend, Michelle, told me about this dip recipe called Potato Dip and Oh My Goodness Me! It was sooooo yummy! So I decided to share this yummy goodness with all my blogger friends! :)

Potato Dip
1-16 oz Sour Cream
1- 8oz bar of Cream Cheese
1 pkg of Real Bacon Bits
1 bag of Finely Shredded Cheddar Cheese
(You may also add jalapenos for a little kick too, if you want!)

Mix all ingredients together in a small-medium pyrex dish. Only add about half the cheese into the mixture. Place in 375 degree oven for 20 mins. Top with other half of cheese & put back in for 5-10 more mins. Serve with Ritz or Club crackers! Yummy!

Before baking

And after everyone left! LOL (I forgot to take a pic of it right out of the oven, but this shows how yummy it was! :) We put a dent in it! )

Well I'm heading to bed! Have a great evening!

Heart of Hope

Today was a very eventful day! I took "Fritter" to a playdate this morning with her friends Emmalyne & Cullen! She had a blast playing with all their fun toys! We had some fun mommy time too! :)

This evening I joined a few friends at a new maternity home that is being built in my city called Heart of Hope. This is such a beautiful ministry that will house young girls that get pregnant and have no where to go or have help during their pregnancy. They will be able to live in the home during their pregnancy & learn different aspects of parenting to prepare for their new baby! It will provide a place where they can receive physical, emotional, and spiritual support during an uncertain time for them! It is truly a blessing to be apart of this ministry.

Tonight a small group of us met to start assembling the cabinets that will be placed in each of the girl's bathrooms. We had fun building & fellowshipping!

Our sweet couple friends Jerod & Stephanie working hard on assembling a cabinet.

Our fearless leader, Thomas, unpacking a cabinet set! (Please excuse the Alabama gear...we still love him, even with his poor color choice! ;P)

My cute hubby getting to work!

Me getting excited about using the screwgun & building a whole cabinet by myself! Yes, I am super woman!! LOL
Watch out or I'll get ya!! :)

My great cabinet I built with my own two hands!

We have so many more to build & I'm excited to head back on Saturday! Using power tools seems to "empower" me, so I can't wait to get back & blessing this sweet ministry with our help! :)

Congrats to Kelly! She won the petite zebra print purse giveaway! She is going to be looking so chic! :)

Today was a pretty mellow & normal day for me & Fritter. We ran a few errands to the Post Office (which I will never do again with her until she is at least 15!! Crying, whining, & squirming in a long line in a quiet post office with all 8 people behind you staring at you...yeah, no fun! ) LOL & then ran to Walmart.

We came home and played. Fritter is saying so many words lately. My favorite was yesterday without prompt she said, "Thank you, Mommy!" My heart about burst out of my chest! So cute! I love how she said "Spaghetti" tonight too! I can't wait to have little conversations with her all day! :)

I've also been working on some invitations for a Usborne book party that I'm hosting next week! They have so many children's books that are so great, so I'm excited about having all my friends over!

Well, that's the wrap-up of our Tuesday! Be sure to enter the cute giveaway for the Zebra Print Purse below! It ends tomorrow! :)

When her son was born, she made a few rompers but really stopped sewing after that. Last year she got the "itch" again and decided that handbags would be a nice addition to my shows.

And I totally agree!...Her handbags are so cute, chic, and very affordable. She offers 3 styles of bags.

Petite purses
Shoulder bags
and the Sling Bag...
She also makes beautiful & stylish necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

Melissa was so excited to be featured on my blog that in honor of her son's 11th birthday this weekend, she is  giving a special offer to my readers. She would like to offer 20% off discount to all orders over $25 for the duration of this giveaway! (Just tell her your from The Fancy Fritter!)

If many of us were honest, we would say that we have made some regrets while going through this motherhood journey....but last night I think I found my biggest regret so far.....

 he's cute,
he's a classic,
he makes kids laugh,
but if I have to pick up one more set of eyes or silly looking mustaches,
I may lose my MIND!

But it sure is cute when Fritter walks in strolling her baby with those teeny tiny glasses on!! :)

Surely I'm not the only one with "toy" regrets, am I?

Finally A Part of the Club...

Yesterday Fritter & I went out shopping with some gift cards burning holes in our pockets & had a fun time. We ventured to Best Buy & I bought a new TV all by myself!! LOL Hubby was really proud of me, but said it took everything in him not to drive all the way back in town to come make sure it was a good one! Well last night, we hooked it up (or tried too..I went & got the right cables this morning) and watched Fireproof & it is so nice! :) We have now entered the Digital world with everyone else! :)

Now my next task is to keep little fingerprints off of it! :)

Well it is getting really cold here tonight & may possibly snow in the morning, so I'm making Chili tonight! :) I better go get to cooking! :)

Stay warm!

Static cling, anyone?!?

Fritter & I have just been cozy and cuddly this cold & snowy morning (Ok..not really snowy, maybe 2 flurries, but that still counts, right?)

Well with all the cuddling we caught up in some crazy static that made for some fun pictures! LOL

I'm busy doing the first of the year de-cluttering around our house....Today, I tackle my closet & sewing area! This could be scary!! :)

I hope everyone has a warm & static free day! :)

Happy 2010!

Happy 2010!!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful New Year's weekend. We had a great time visiting with family & friends, and now I have been so busy with getting my home back together after Christmas and cleaning! Not a whole lot of fun going on around here! LOL

I'm excited about the new year though with new things happening on my blog & my little sewing business. I have so many ideas that I want to start creating, so hopefully I will be able to get somethings made & show them off to you soon! :)

It is pretty cold here, so I'm going to snuggle up with a cup of hot chocolate! :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Lord's Day!
