Nap Mat & 100th Post

**Hello! & welcome if you are coming from http://www.purplebookbloggingmommy.blogspot.com/! Thanks for stopping by!**

Whoo hooo!! I made it to 100 posts today! How exciting! I have really come to love blogging about my life and fun new stuff I have been making. And speaking of new stuff I have made...I made my very first napmat last week. My friend Michelle needed one for her little girl for daycare and I have always wanted to make one, so I was so excited when she asked me to make one! It turned out so great too!
This is what it looks like all folded up. I love the cute tabs that button.

A close up of the pillow and blanket. The blanket is so soft minky and velcro goes all the way down the side so it can come off easily to wash!

The full view! LOVE IT!! :)

Erin of http://www.purplebookbloggingmommy.blogspot.com/ is having her first ever giveway on her blog today & I feel so honored that she found my blog & shop and is featuring me for the giveaway! I'm giving away either a girl or boy bib, so head on over & get your name in! It ends Thursday at midnight!

Have a great evening!

Z is for Zebras & Tigers & Bears...Oh my!

Today Z is for Zebras & Tigers & Bears....Oh my!!
(I really can't believe I had something for Z! LOL)

A few weekends ago, we went to Jan Kay Ranch Camp for the weekend. My pastor was speaking there for a church in Texarkana that was going for a retreat too, so they invited everyone in our church to come along! We had a great time! They have a live petting zoo and tons of animals everywhere! In the first 30 mins, we were there we saw horses, a camel, and 2 little black pigs roam across the road outside our house! :) And also, you know you are enjoying ranch life when you wake up to a donkey "bray" multiple times in the night outside your window! LOL
Swinging with mommy! :)
Family picture in front of the pond!
(Please excuse the roughness...This was my Ranch look! HA!)

We did tons of swimming and Anna loved it! They also had this huge water slide that was a hit! All the adults were like little kids running up that slide to keep doing it over and over again! I was a little nervous at first, but hubby talked me into taking Anna down the slide & she ended up LOVING it and would giggle and giggle after it was over! She ended up doing it about 3 times!!
Loving the pool!
Weeeee!!!....
And she loved it! :)

We also enjoyed a hay ride and walking through all the animals. We saw such a variety, such as, a zebra, a rhino, lions, a tiger, bears, monkeys, a leopard, and so many different animals. Anna also took her first hay ride too and enjoyed it! She was such a sweet girl and I can't wait to take her back again soon!
HUGE lion!!
Anna and her buddy Christopher watching the silly monkeys!!

Well, I'm done with the ABC's of blogging! It was fun & was a creative way to try to think of things to blog about! I hope everyone enjoyed it!

Have a great week!

X is for X-tremely Clever Toy!!

Today is for X-tremely Clever Toy!

So, little Fritter has been OBSESSED with buckles lately! It cracks me up..She will spend so much time standing at her stroller clicking the buckles together and dragging her space saver chair around to click all the buckles...she is a buckle addict! And oh gosh, heaven forbid, I buckle her in to a shopping cart and not let her do the buckle! (Everyone in the front of Hobby Lobby heard that break down! LOL)

Soooooo......

Being the Google fanatic that I am, I googled children buckle toy and I found this great, nifty, and clever toy! This mother must have had a buckle fiend like my child! LOL
It says it is developed to:
  • Keep a toddler occupied on long road trips!
  • Does NOT pinch little fingers like normal sized buckles do!
  • Improve hand and eye coordination!
  • Strengthen fine motor skills!
  • Teach colors and shapes!
  • Fit in any diaper bag!
I'll take 5 please!!

What a great idea! I'm definitely going to get one for Anna...This will be hours of quiet problem solving! Yay for learning! LOL

Does anyone else's child love buckles as much as Anna does? I'm just one mom trying to help out the next and I thought this toy was the neatest! You can find more information about it at www.buckletoy.com

Well off to bed! Have a great night!

W is for Whoa! Not Me, Monday!

Today W is for Whoa!
Not me, Monday!

Well it's Not me, Monday! time again! Boy, do I have alot to confess...or NOT confess! LOL ;)

  • I did NOT ask a very young looking 30 year old woman (that I did not know) if she was another 30 year old woman's mother at a baby shower last week. (I heard my friend's mother was so young & beautiful, and they happened to be sitting next to each other & talking and they favored each other, so I guess I should have thought about it before I asked...I mean before I DIDN'T ask!) LOL
  • I did NOT wet a ton of nasty brown paper towels in the bathroom today to clean a dirty diaper bottom b/c I left the wipes in the car. Not me, NEVER! (Poor Anna! LOL)
  • I did NOT drop my 3 month old I-phone on the road at Jan Kay Ranch and I did NOT gasp out of sheer terror of what it may look like. (I looks like I'm looking through a cracked windshield now! LOL) Nope, I would NEVER be so clumsy to do something like that! :/
Well, as you can tell, I've had a pretty eventful week! We had a great weekend at Jan Kay Ranch & I've spent all day running errands and catching up on errands. Just trying to get everything back to normal! I'll post more pics as I get them downloaded!

Have a great Monday!

We are leaving this Friday afternoon & going on a mini vacation with all of our church group to Jan Kay Ranch for a little retreat! It is Detriot, TX about 2 1/2 hours away, so we will get to have a little family roadtrip with Anna! I'm excited! :)

T is for Time

Today T is for Time
I have currently been reading (for awhile now..I'll pick it up, get too convicted & then put it back down! lol) the book Shopping For Time by Carolyn Mahaney & her daughters.
It is such a great book helping women manage their time in a biblical way. After every chapter, I feel challenged, yet encouraged by their practical ways to help my life glorify the Lord in the way I spend my time. I copied some reviews that are found on the back of the book to explain just how great this book is! I'm ready to get back into it and hopefully learn some more helpful tips! :)

Like most women today, I struggle with feelings of “too much to do and too little time to doit”! My friend Carolyn Mahaney, along with her daughters, offers practical, biblical advice to help us plan, evaluate, strategize, and make wise choices concerning our time and priorities. As a godly mentor, Carolyn takes us by the hand, points us to God’s Word, shares out of her own life experience, and shows us how to apply God’s timeless truths to the contemporary challenges we face as women.
—Nancy Leigh DeMoss, author; Revive Our Hearts--radio host

“We can actually do all that God has called us to do . . . and we can do it in a peaceful, joyful manner and get sufficient rest beside.” When I read that, a light flashed on in my soul. Of course! I knew that! Once again Carolyn, Nicole, Kristin, and Janelle have created a book that’s fun to read and filled with truth that resonates because it’s biblical and practical and manageable. And lest I start to feel overwhelmed, their husband and dad, C.J., inserts another comforting truth: “Only God gets his to-do list done each day.”
—Noel Piper, wife, mother, grandmother, and author of Faithful Women and Their Extraordinary God

Shopping for Time offers a glimpse into the delightful Mahaney household. Through the effective use of a shopping metaphor, the conversational style engages the reader from start to finish. Quotes from carefully selected resources would make for excellent further
study. This book offers no simplistic solutions to the perils of superwoman syndrome. Instead, it deliberately leads women to the bedrock of biblical priorities and then suggests real life methods by which to apply them. The wise woman will redeem her time by prayerfully heeding the seasoned advice of Carolyn Mahaney, one of God’s choicest servants, and her amazing, godly daughters.
—Mary K. Mohler, wife of Dr. Albert Mohler, president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary

So if you're looking for a good book to read by the end of the summer, this is a quick and easy read and will help you in so many areas of your life! :)

Have a great night!

S is for Sisters!

Today S is for Sisters!

Today I wanted to dedicate my blog entry to two of my best friends...my sisters! :) My oldest sister, Melissa, is 13 years older than me, so she was always the one that I looked up too and I wanted to be just like her! She was so fun when we were growing up and she would take us the movies, the mall, and when she got married we could have fun staying the night over at her new house! There are tons of fun memories that are coming to mind!

Melissa holding me when I was a newborn! (She will probably kill me if she knows this is on here! ) I love it! :)

My older sister, Lindsay, is only 21 months older than me, so we were buddies all through our childhood. We had tons of fun playing with each other and getting into all sorts of mischief. I found all these old pictures on my computer and they just brought a smile to my face to remember all the fun times we had growing up. As much as I want to have a boy next, having another little girl and sister for Anna to be close with would be so fun too!

Here we are in our little kiddie pool! This picture makes me laugh! We were so excited!
Here are our little "boy" haircuts! LOL...My mom said we wanted them...This is a situation when I wish we didn't get what we asked for! HA!

Being silly! Not much has changed! LOL

We used to love building forts out of our PipeWorks (did anyone else having those growing up in the 80's?...I must find some for Anna!) and when we put the blankets on top it always gave us static hair! LOL

All three of us in 2005

I am so thankful that the Lord gave me two sisters and we are able to now share in the joys of adulthood together. I know they will always be there whenever I need anything and that is the sweetest feeling in the world. I love you Melissa & Lindsay & are so blessed to have you as sisters!
