What a week!

This picture pretty much sums up my past week! LOL
I had a tire blow out on Tuesday and then on Friday my air went out on I think one of the hottest days in Louisiana! We found out that I need to get a new radiator, so my car is in the shop now & hopefully will be able to be out soon.
We also had a tough weekend with sweet little Anna. Her molars and canines are all coming through and so she has been battling lack of sleep, runny nose & fever....I feel so bad for her! I'm glad that we don't remember that pain...LOL
Other than all that chaos, we had a wonderful Father's Day, full of food, love, and visiting with my dad and family. I got Kirk a shorts outfit & a LSU baseball shirt! They are going to the College World Series so he is super pumped!
Well, off to finish cleaning up my house! I'm excited about hosting my church's ladies bible study every Tuesday. This will be our 3rd week to meet and it has been such a blessing to hear everyone's testimonies! I feel closer to all them so much more all ready! We are going to do a study through the book of Ephesians. I'm excited to learn more all about this great book!
I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Not Me Monday!

OK...I know Monday is almost over, but it has been so busy I'm just sitting down to blog...

It's Not Me, Monday time!
~I did NOT wash all the spaghetti sauce off of Anna's raviolis just b/c I didn't want to clean up a big mess....Nope, NOT me! (I know..that's horrible, right?..lol..But she still ate them up without a clue! lol)
~I did NOT whack a mailbox so hard that it broke into 2 pieces, while parking at a garage sale, and I did NOT cringe in embarrassment as everyone at the garage sale stared to look the crazy woman who hit the neighbor's mailbox...Nope, Not me!
~I did NOT eat left over Strawberry Swirl cake for 3 mornings in a row...Nope, Not me! :)
hehe...It has been an eventful weekend to say the least...
I hope everyone had a happy Monday! :)

Babies In Bookland

This morning I took Anna to our local library's storytime. It was our first time to do anything like this, but I know how much she loves books and we are always looking for fun things to do to get out of the house! Plus, it is free! :) I was actually surprised at Anna's reaction when we got there b/c she is usually pretty clingy to me in new areas. Not here! She was climbing to get down and go play in the basket of books. She was so amazed at all the fun friends around her and she immediately started being silly & laughing and talking to the new little friends. Everything was fine & dandy, until it was circle time. Well circle time & 13 month olds don't really mix well, so she started the flinging & wailing & screaming bit during storytime...I swear I felt like a mom on SuperNanny when their kids start to kick and scream...LOL...Poor thing...But the lady was so sweet & told me to keep bringing her b/c she will eventually get the hang of it....Let's hope so! :) After being rewarded for such great behavior (sarcasm..lol) with a Happy Meal, Little Fritter came home and took a 2 1/2 hour nap & I snuck a little one in too! :)

Well, off to bed...My friend Beth is coming over tomorrow morning & I'm going to show her how to sew a pillowcase dress. I'm excited she wants to learn from me! :) I'll post pictures soon of our finished work!

Weekend & Taco Bake

Whew! We had a busy weekend, but it was lots of fun! Friday night we went to visit our friends Jerry & Amanda and their little son Jonah ( a 4 month old cutie). We ate dinner & then after we put the kids down we watched The Dark Knight. (Kinda creepy, but it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time!) On Saturday we went to my in-laws for a fish fry and it was so yummy & we had a good time visiting with the whole family.

I have recently started trying to get back into cooking new dinners for my family at night. Lately we are so busy we just run and grab something or I just do meal in a box or grill chicken breasts. Well...I was ready for a change & my hubby wasn't going to stop me...LOL

I get those Kraft Food & Family magazines in the mail every season and they have some great recipes so I decided to make a week of some of the ones that drew my attention. If you want to sign up, head to Kraft Foods & click food&family tab & sign up for free! Last Thursday night I decided to make their Taco Bake and it was so yummy! Even the leftovers were scrumptious! :) It is so quick & easy that I had to share it with all my sweet bloggy friends!

TACO BAKE

What You Need:
1 pkg. (14 oz.) KRAFT Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese Dinner
1 lb. ground beef
1 pkg. (1-1/4 oz.) TACO BELL® HOME ORIGINALS® Taco Seasoning Mix
3/4 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
1-1/2 cups KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese, divided
1 cup TACO BELL® HOME ORIGINALS® Thick 'N Chunky Salsa

Make It:
HEAT oven to 400°F. Prepare Dinner as directed on package. While Macaroni is cooking, cook meat with taco seasoning as directed on package.
STIR sour cream into prepared Dinner; spoon 1/2 into 8-inch square baking dish. Top with layers of meat mixture, 1 cup cheese and remaining Dinner mixture; cover with foil.
BAKE 15 min.; top with salsa and remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered, 5 min. or until cheese is melted.

**For extra crunch, prepare and bake as directed, topping with 1/2 cup coarsely crushed tortilla chips along with the salsa and cheese.**

You can't go wrong with mac-n-cheese & taco meat! Yum! Let me know if you try it too! :)

Have a happy Monday!

Vintage

Today I woke up earlier to take the hubs to work so he could get his work truck & I stopped by some garage sales on the way. Well...I found this adorable vintage pillowcase & knew it would be perfect for a little dress! It was only 25 cents! It even has the vintage details of little stains & spots, but that only makes it better! LOL...I'm so happy with how it turned out and it will be so sweet on Anna next summer! I also stopped by another sale at a church by our house and got a whole box of thread & 3 yards of fabric for $5! It was a fun morning! :)

As I was trying to finish up an order & sew my new pillowcase, Little Fritter emptied out my entire fabric cabinet...At first, I looked at her and was about to say no, but then realized she was happy, quiet, & having fun and I was able to sew, so I let her have at it! It needed to be reorganized anyways! lol...She was just a laughing, talking, and giggling the whole time she played in it all. She loved my fleece & minky fabrics too and for a minute I thought she may actually take a nap there...LOL
Well....off to clean up her fun mess. Have a great weekend!

Houston trip & Catching up....

Almost 2 weeks ago we went down to visit my sister, Lindsay and her husband Daniel in Houston, TX for the weekend and we had a blast! Anna did such a good job going down there and enjoyed getting her first Wacky pack from Sonic during the ride down...LOL...Friday we went to the Woodlands shopping area and it was so nice! We ate at the Cheesecake Factory & I had always heard great things about it and now I know why...It was sooo yummy!! That evening we went to the Astros/Rangers game and it was a blast! I had never been to a major league baseball game and it was so much fun! Anna loved it too! She just cheered, danced to the music, clapped, & ate a whole dog. LOL She is definitely a sports fan! The Astros ended up losing 6-5 in the 10th inning, but it was a great game to watch. They also had a fireworks show that night after the game and Anna wasn't too sure about them at first. After covering her ears and holding her still she loved staring at them...LOL

Hanging out in the dugout before the game! ;)

Excited about being at her first baseball game!! :)

Cheering & laughing with Daddy! :)
Sweet tired girl not too sure about the fireworks...

That Saturday we decided to go to the Houston NASA Space Center. It was fun, but probably would have been alot more fun if Anna was a little older. It was kinda difficult because you couldn't bring strollers with you on the tours so our little wiggly one year old kept wanting to get down...LOL..Let's just say we got our arm work out! We did see some neat shuttles, capsules, & rockets. If we had a 4 year old boy with us, he would have been going crazy...LOL...
Posing with Daddy by a space station model

Posing with the astronauts that landed on the moon! :)

Overall it was a great and fun trip & we can't wait to go back to visit again sometime this summer!

Things at home have been good. We are in the middle of a transition now because my husband got a new job! We are so thankful to the Lord for answering our prayers during this crunch time & my husband is excited too about learning new things in his new position. Tomorrow I actually have to take him to work bright and early so he can bring home his new work truck! Hopefully I don't scare everyone on the roads in the morning..hehe! Anna & I may stop by some garage sales they are having by our house...We had such a good one last weekend it makes me want to go see what fun things I can find! :)

Well, I'm off to bed for my early morning!

P.S. I have a prayer request...I found my friend Lindsey's blog the other day and we were in alot of Family & Child Studies classes & BCM stuff at LA Tech together . Well she just had a sweet baby girl on June 2 and she was flewn to Pennsylvania to have heart surgery in the morning. You can go to Lindsey's blog for more information on sweet Anniston. Thanks! :)
