What a fun Christmas...

Wow! Christmas has come and gone and now I'm recooperating! It feels so good to just sit in your PJ's and relax around the house after being so busy for a week or so. We had such a fun Christmas with Anna! I think she really enjoyed her first Christmas. She is a big fan of tissue paper and wrapping paper! :) She loved to shake it and eat it...hehe! We had a great time visiting family and friends. I'm now in the process of cleaning my whirlwind of a house..AHH! My husband got me some nice storage cabinets and drawers to store all of my sewing supplies and fabric in, so I'm excited to get it all stocked up....Just another reason to buy more fabric! Yay! :) I'm excited about all the new ideas I have this year for Gracious Creations...Vacation time is over and I am eager to get back to creating fun baby items. I bought some fun patterns and I'm excited to learn to make clothes this year. That is my goal and maybe I can get good enough to open another Etsy store for my clothing..AHH! All the fun ideas! :)

Well, the baby Einstein video is almost up, so I better get back to Anna. I wanted to share a picture of one of her favorite toys. She loves her hit them and then dance to the music. How fun!

If I'm not back before the 1st, Happy New Years! :)

My favorite Christmas recipe

When I think about Christmas food, my thoughts go immediately to COOKIES! :) There are so many different types of Christmas cookies and I would say my favorite would be soft sugar cookies with Christmas color sprinkles or Snickerdoodles! Yum! I wanted to share a good snickerdoodle recipe that I have and hopefully I will be able to make them this year!

For the topping:
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
For the cookie dough:
3 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
In a small bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
To make the cookie dough, stir together the dry ingredients.
In a bowl with a paddle attachment, cream the butter. Add the sugar and continue to mix, then add the eggs, corn syrup, and vanilla, and mix thoroughly. Add the dry ingredients and mix until blended. Chill dough 1 hour if it's sticky or difficult to handle.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Roll balls of dough about the size of a walnut then roll them in the cinnamon sugar to coat. Place on an un-greased sheet pan 2 1/2 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until puffed up and the surface is slightly cracked. Let cool on the sheet pan a few minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool.

What is your favorite Christmas cookie recipe?? Please share...If I have enough, I may post everyone's favorites! Christmas is 8 days away! Yay!

Anna loves Christmas!

I had so much fun yesterday taking pictures of Anna in front of the Christmas tree. At first I saw her by the tree so I just grabbed my camera and took some pics of her and then I realized let's try to get our Christmas card pic and we DID! She is on a mission to crawl soon too! She has been getting around the last few weeks by scooting on her bottom but now she is getting up on her knees...So we'll see...I would love it if she crawled to her presents! That should be motivation, huh? Well here are a few pics for our "photo shoot"..hehe...I'll post her Christmas card pic after I get them sent out! :)

Only 2 more weeks until Christmas! Yay!

2 Years Down...So many more to go!

This was the LORD’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
~Psalm 118:23-24

Today was such a special day! My husband and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary! I can't believe it has already been 2 years. Time has gone by so fast! We had such a sweet date tonight! It was our first time to go on a date since Anna was born (which was 7 1/2 months ago), so it was much needed! It was funny, about halfway through the dinner we both agreed it was weird that she wasn't with us and we felt like we should be doing something like playing with her, bouncing, shoveling food in, etc. All the fun things you'll do to keep your baby happy while you enjoy a meal..LOL...So we had a great dinner at Macaroni Grill and enjoyed a time just to ourselves. This year God has been so good to us by bringing us closer and by blessing us with a sweet baby girl. I am so thankful for my husband and the way he loves me and our family. He is a man of conviction, such a hardworker, and full of love towards his girls. I love you Kirk and I can't wait for so many, many more years with you!

Here are a couple of pics to relive that sweet day: :)
